Instruction for Colonoscopy (Haprep Powder)

Why clean the bowels?

Accuracy of diagnosis and examination depends on bowel preparation. If bowel preparation is not appropriate, it is hard to make accurate diagnosis and results in additional time and cost due to re-examination.
Accordingly, you should strictly comply with the instruction for the method and speed of taking a bowel preparation solution, dietary restriction, and additionaluid. Request for re-sending of colonoscopy laxative (medicine) will charge you 10,000 KRW for out-of-pocket payment.

Pre-examination Cautions

  • 1. If you are taking antiplatelet drugs (Aspirin, Plavix, Pletal, etc.)
        and anticoagulants(Warfarin, Coumadin, Heparin, etc.) for
        any cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease,     make sure you consult with the doctor who prescribed the drugs     and suspend it 5 days before the examination. However, for any high
        blood pressure or cardio drugs which were approved by the doctor,
        please take them with a small amount of water early in the morning
        on the day of the examination.
  • 2. If you are taking cardio drugs (surgical history, stent implanted,
        wearing a pacemaker, etc.), immunosuppressants, or liver cirrhosis
        drugs, you must consult with your doctor before the examination.
  • 3. You would have hypoglycemia due to fasting, please do not take
        diabetes medicationor inject insulin in the morning of the
        examination.
  • 4. If you have had abdominal surgery, you can take colonoscopy at least
        6 months later.
  • 5. If you applied for sedation endoscopy, you must use public
        transportation instead of driving by yourself.
  • 6. The oxygen saturation cannot be measured if you have nail polish on
        (gel nail). Please make sure to remove it before visiting.
  • 7. In cases of severe obesity with a BMI of 35 or higher, there are
        restrictions on undergoing sleep endoscopy due to the risk of sleep
        apnea.

Diet for a day Before examination

Before 1 pm for the morning examination and before 7 pm for the afternoon examination, please eat white rice or white porridge only without any side dishes and then you must fast until the day of the examination, except for bowel preparation solution and water.

How to take Haprep Powder

Preparations
① 4 packs of Haprep A ② 4 packs of Haprep B ③ 1 pack of Gasocol ④ 1 empty container (500ml)
How to prepare one Haprep

After putting 1 pack of A and 1 pack of B into the container, pour water up to the mark (500 ml) and shake it until dissolved well.
How to take (Morning examination)
① A day before examination (First)

Take 250ml of the prepared Haprep 1L every 15 minutes

    Take at 8:00 pm

    Take at 8:30 pm

  • After taking the prepared solution, drink 1L of water additionally.
      

    Take at 9:00 ~ 10:00 pm
② On the day of examination (Second)

Take 250ml of the prepared Haprep 1L every 15 minutes

    Take at 4:00 am

  •  

    Take at 4:30 am
  •      After taking the prepared solution,
    put 1 pack of Gasocol into 500ml of water and shake it before taking.
    Take at 5:00 ~ 5:30 am
How to take (Afternoon examination)
    ① On the day of examination (First)

    Take 250ml of the prepared Haprep 1L every 15 minutes

    •      After taking the prepared solution,
      drink 1L of water additionally.
      Take at 6:00 ~ 7:00 am
    ② On the day of examination (Second)

    Take 250ml of the prepared Haprep 1L every 15 minutes

      Take at 7:30 am
    •     After taking the prepared solution,
      put 1 pack of Gasocol into 500 ml of water
      and shake it before taking.
      Take at 8:00 ~ 8:30 am

* Even when your stool is clear as water, you should take all colonoscopy laxative.

 

※ For accurate examination, it is very important to clean your bowel. While taking a solution, moving your body through abdominal massage or walking will help you empty the bowel rather than just lying down or sitting still.

※ Since the examination will not proceed properly if it is dicult to take a colonoscopy laxative(medicine) or your bowel is not prepared, you should take it in a timely manner as instructed. Please do not have water, gum, candy, or smoke after taking all until the examination.

※ If you cancel colonoscopy, please make sure to return the drugs you received.
